About us

Ilkeston Outlaws Basketball Club is a well established, local, friendly and safe environment, catering for Boys and Girls from 8 -18 throughout Erewash, Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire as well as senior men’s and women’s teams.

The Outlaws coaching staff are passionate about basketball and inspire our players to learn, grow and become the best player you can be. Each hand-picked to bring the highest quality of coaching throughout progression from junior to senior level.

Ilkestons “Everyone Welcome” policy caters for all abilities from Novice to National league player, so no matter what your ability, everyone can not only train and improve, but also be a part of a team.

Partnerships with local schools and local council ensures that we provide winning basketball sessions to all abilities.

QUALITY COACHING

At Ilkeston Outlaws, our coaches are paramount to driving excellence and competing at the highest level. Local initiative and Basketball England funding have allowed the outlaws to become a well-known brand through the basketball world. Ranging from ex and current players through to coaching veterans to provide a mixture of approaches that all players can learn from.

Our coaches alter their training sessions depending on the age and ability of their audience, often splitting a session if there is a mixed ability at any one session. Ensuring that your child can grow as a player at their own pace, and will not be overwhelmed as they step into basketball.

All of our coaches are Basketball England accredited
so you can be sure that your child is in safe hands

NATIONAL LEAGUE

The Basketball England National League is the top flight of junior basketball in the UK. With leagues ranging from ‘premier’ to ‘development’, the best way for a player to showcase their skills and move up the Basketball England Performance Pathway is to play for a club that provides basketball at this level.

Every junior squad in the lkeston Outlaws club has a team that competes in the Basketball England National League, competing across the country against some of the toughest competition from different regions.

Every child that steps through the doors at any Ilkeston Outlaws session has the opportunity to play for a team. With most of our teams putting squads into the local Sherwood Basketball League as well as competing in the Basketball England National League, where their skills will be put to the test at the highest level.

DIVERSITY

The outlaws have teams for both men and women, boys and girls. As well as having an open door policy throughout the year in any of our training sessions.

No-one will be turned away from Ilkeston Outlaws, our doors are always open to new recruits wishing to train and teams participate in several leagues to encourage competition at all levels.

With fundamental youth training and summer camps often on the menu, there is something for everyone!

On top of all this – the club runs many junior camps and sessions with their continued partnership with the Erewash Council. Providing basketball into the community and keeping people active.
